Allied Health Care Partners

Mental Health

Harding Street Medical Centre is partnered with a number of allied health providers who practice psychology and mental health occupational therapy onsite at our facility. We are  proud to host a number of Psychologists who are onsite at Harding St some days a week.

There is a strong link between physical and mental health. Therapist aim to help their patients by helping them explore the reasons underpinning mental distress and teach stratagies to relieve and manage their mental health..

Costs: Medicare supports Psychologist and mental health OT visits if you qualify for a mental health plan (MHP)

A MHP can be provided by your doctor if your specific mental health issues qualify.

This requires a Double Face to face appointment -and enables access to an initial 6 of a total of 10 sessions per calendar year.

A MHP reduces the out of pocket costs, with some discounts available for Health Care Card Holders.

Unfortunately Phone consults do not have a medicare rebate for new Mental Health Plans, only for 'Review of MHP'

Each Psychologist and mental health OT determines their own rates.

Private health care rebates may apply for those who do not qualify for a Mental Health Plan.
