IUD CLINIC
At Harding Street Medical Centre, we are now inserting both hormonal and copper IUDs and are pleased to offer women more choice, including the new smaller, low dose hormonal IUD, available from 1st March 2020. Harding Street Medical Centre offers an IUD clinic. An Intrauterine Device, also known as an IUD, is a small, narrow device placed into a woman’s uterus (womb) by her doctor. This is usually done using local anaesthetic and it can be left in place for at least 5 years. IUDs can be used as highly effective Contraception, to reduce Heavy Menstrual Bleeding, to help control Period Pain, as a treatment for Endometriosis or as part of Menopausal Hormone Therapy (Hormone Replacement Therapy).
Please book a double appointment for a Pre-IUD Assessment with Dr Angie Read if you are interested in any of these options.
We strive to serve our community’s health needs by offering a wide range of services. These services include those such as women’s and men’s health services, 45-49 health checks, diabetes, asthma and ulcer/wound management. To be sure that no area of your health is left out of our treatment regimens, we also have an award-winning immunisation clinic, a registered dietician, podiatrist, a diabetes educator, an exercise physiologist, a psychologist and a counsellor.
